Memobottle. What your purse needs. NOW.

Today’s topic. Memobottles. But we’ll get there momentarily. I don’t know about you, but I’m a sucker for small purses. I think the largest purse I carry on a daily basis is the Michael Kors Selma in Medium, which really isn’t that big either. Usually my other bags in rotation are my Rebecca Minkoff mini M.A.B., 3.1 Philip Lim mini Pashli, and Valentino Red box bag. Which are… well… relatively small. I’m relatively petite, so small bags just look better on me. That. And I’m plain lazy… carrying too much is a burden on my shoulders and I’m just not for that. Besides, being minimalistic is a virtue in my opinion. On top of that, I’m also not a girl who needs to carry much. I just need my wallet, keys, some make up for touch up, sunglasses, phone, iPad mini if I desire, a bottle of water and that’s about it.

WAIT. Now… that bottle of water may be an issue. I’m the type of girl that loves sipping on water and staying hydrated. And ladies… and gents, I think it’s a healthy habit we all should have both for our body and our skin care! Especially since summer is coming up! Can’t let that summer heat get to us! Gotta stay hydrated! The issue that comes up with carrying around small tiny purses is… how will I fit a water bottle into my purse?! To me… when I purchase a purse, I always think about whether or not it will fit a bottle of water (usually the size of an 8-16oz Poland Spring disposable bottle at the very least). The purses I mentioned above all fit a bottle of water around that size if I squish it in (but it won’t look classy at all… and we know that won’t really do) OR it will fit at the cost of me giving up on carrying other items I wish I could’ve brought with me. That really won’t do.

The topic came up, when I went to dinner with a friend one Friday night. I just recently purchased my mini Pashli and my friend asked what my thoughts are on it.

Me: it’s ehhh… not bad.
Friend: Well… what don’t you love about it?
Me: It’s just that… I can fit all my essentials.. even my iPad mini which is a plus… BUT I can’t fit a water bottle.
Friend: Ever heard of memobottles? Here… let me show you.

Eureka! That’s where it all started! My friend pulled up the website for memobottles and I instantaneously fell in love with the sleek design. I mean, yeah it looks just like a flask bottle for liquor. The idea wasn’t exactly new, BUT to me memobottles are a true innovation. The perfect fit to all my purses.

I actually started out as a cheapo, hoping to find cheaper replacements online (namely Amazon) as the original memobottle was not cheap. It was $25 USD for the A5 size (25 fl oz.) and $22 USD for the A6 size (13 fl oz.) and this was not including shipping. I got a couple of replica “memobottles” shipped to me through Amazon Prime at $10 USD – $13 USD each (hurray! free shipping and returns!) and after receiving it and looking at it I immediately thought it did not fall within standards. The shape was weird and unsophisticated and fit awkwardly into my purses. Not only that but the plastic material didn’t seem that great either. That was when I knew I should not skimp on an essential. There was no way out of it… so I ordered my expensive A6 memobottle. I ordered mine through Amazon and it was about $25 USD with shipping. When I received it, the packaging and everything about it was just screaming LOVE to me.

“You’re now part of the memo family.”

In the back, they have a thank you note saying Thank You and explaining their design.

Here is what it says:

“We are memobottle; a creative initiative based out of Melbourne, Australia and San Diego, California, working passionately to create the balance between environmental sustainability and improved life efficiency and convenience.
Resembling the shape of a piece of paper, the memobottle is a slimline, premium designed, reusable water bottle which suitably slides into your favorite carry bag alongside your computer, books, and valuables.

The memobottle brings leak-proof hydration to a new level of style and efficiency.
Single use bottle consumption has gone bananas in recent years, with 1,500 plastic bottles being used and discarded every SECOND in the US. This has a damaging effect on both the environment, and our hip pockets. Bottled water is about 1,400 times more expensive than tap water and often less regulated.

It’s a common belief that plastic is The Devil. However, due to the monstrous embodied energy in Aluminum and Stainless Steel products, (considering raw material to product) reusable plastic bottles are actually 80% more environmentally friendly than their counterparts.

Global Impact: More than 50 billion single use bottles were sold globally last year. Thank you for supporting a re-usable society and your planet earth.”

Yep. I was sold! Saving the environment is definitely on the top of my list! That. And the fact that I can fit a water bottle inside my purse sleekly. AND I can fashionably drink water? WIN WIN WIN! Hands down for the One BOTTLE Movement, because this WILL be the bottle I will lug around! Actually, after posting a picture of it on my instagram, I’ve already gotten many DM and comments asking where to get this bottle!

imageHonestly perfect to lug around! It even fits in a small Celine Trio!
imageBeauty no matter how you look at it.

Now everybody, remember, this awesome bottle is not only suitable for us ladies, but also for all the gents out that that carry laptop bags, brief cases, and messenger bags. It is just THAT much more convenient and YES sleek! And for ladies… it will fit basically all purses big and small as well as clutches. Perfection! Plus it comes with two caps. Black and White for you to fit your fashion needs as well as in the case that you might lose one. They do not sell caps separately so if you lose both, it’s time for you to purchase a new bottle.

Another thing about this bottle I must mention, is that, because the material is plastic. I try not to put lemon in my water for this bottle in fear that the acidity will ruin the longevity of the bottle itself as well as my health (I usually sip on lemon water all day!). However, you can still put fruit in the small mouth of the bottle if you prefer fruit water. Just know you have to cut it into tiny pieces and the cleaning can sometimes be more of a hassle than you’d hope for. With this bottle, I like to put blueberries in it. Convenient snack on the go and the blueberries slide right into my mouth as I drink the water and then I just chew it. Yummy!

    Wow!

This is pretty awesome! But because of my recent poor health, I prefer to carry a thermos so I always have access to warm water or green tea.

Would consider getting one of these! Found a store in Sydney that’s meant to be a stockist, so hopefully I can find it and save on shipping 🙂

    Thanks for sharing!!

    Also, your photos are pretty!!

Hey! For summer this would be perfect for room temperature water. Doesn’t even have to be cold! You could even pour green tea into this! And yes yes~ it’d be so much easier to get access to this in Sydney! Hope you’ll be able to find the perfect fit to your daily needs!
